Questions
How do I open an XLSX file without Excel?
Choose the file on this page and it opens right here in your web browser. You don't need Excel or any other program, and you don't need an account.
Can I open a spreadsheet on my phone?
Yes. Tap “Choose spreadsheet” and pick the file from your Files app, your downloads or a saved email attachment. Swipe to move around the sheet and pinch with two fingers to zoom.
Can I see the formulas behind the numbers?
Yes. Click or tap a cell and its formula shows at the top, just like in Excel. You see the results the spreadsheet saved last time it was opened in Excel.
Will sorting or filtering change my file?
No. Sorting and filtering only change what you see on the screen. Your file stays exactly as it was, and you can go back to the original order at any time.
How do I open a CSV file so the columns line up?
Just choose it. The viewer works out whether the values are separated by commas, semicolons or tabs and puts each value in its own column.
Can I copy cells into another spreadsheet?
Yes. Select the cells and copy them (Ctrl + C on a computer). When you paste them into Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers, they keep their rows and columns.
Will it open a spreadsheet that has a password?
Yes. If the file is locked with a password you'll be asked to type it in, and then it opens as usual. Without the right password it can't be opened — that is what the password is for.
How do I print just one sheet?
Go to the sheet you want and choose Print. Only that sheet is printed, with its rows and columns split neatly across pages.
