Yes. Choose Edit text, then click the line you want to change. A box opens with the text already filled in, in a matching size and colour. Type your changes and click anywhere else when you're done. The old words are covered and your new words are written in their place.

Choose Signature. Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a photo of your signature — the white paper around it is removed. Then drag it into place and resize it with the corner dots. Tick “Remember this signature” to reuse it next time on this device.

If the PDF has fillable boxes, a “Fill form” tool appears at the top. Choose it and every field is highlighted so you can see where to type, tick or choose an answer. There's also an option to make your answers permanent (“Flatten form”) so they can no longer be changed.

No. The downloaded PDF only contains your document and your changes.

Yes, if you know the password. You'll be asked for it when you open the file. The copy you download doesn't need the password any more, so keep it somewhere safe.

Use Whiteout and drag a box over it — it's covered with white (or any colour you choose). To remove a line of text, use Edit text, click the line and delete all the words. The covered content is hidden when viewed and printed; if a document must be truly redacted, the covered text may still be found by copy-and-paste in some programs.

Open the pages panel (the stacked-squares icon near the top, or “Manage pages” in the ⋮ menu). Every page shows as a big thumbnail with buttons to rotate, duplicate or delete it, arrows to move it earlier or later, and you can also drag a page by its handle to reorder it. Deleting a page can be undone right away with Ctrl+Z.

Yes. In the pages panel, “Add pages from a PDF” copies in every page of another PDF file at the spot you choose, and “Add pages from pictures” turns each photo you pick into its own page. You can also pull out some pages into their own separate PDF with “Extract to new PDF”.

PDFs often use fonts that can't be reused for new words. The editor picks the closest standard font (a plain, serif or typewriter style) and matches the size, colour, bold and italic. You can change the font, size and colour in the bar above the page.

Press Ctrl+F (⌘F on a Mac) or the magnifying-glass button and type what you're looking for. Every match is highlighted, and the arrows jump to the next or previous one.

Yes. On a phone the tools sit along the bottom of the screen; swipe them sideways to see them all. Swipe with one finger to move through the pages and pinch with two fingers to zoom. Tap something you added to select it, then drag it to move it or use the corner dots to resize it. While Draw, Highlight, Shapes or Whiteout is on, one finger draws and two fingers scroll; tap Select to scroll normally again.

Usually not. Reopen the PDF Editor and, if your browser kept the page's storage, you'll be asked whether to continue where you left off.

No. Your PDF is opened, edited and saved by your web browser on your own device.
